- What is free, and what is Premium?
- Free: the Gospel of the day, the verse of the day, the written daily reflection, the evening examen, verse search, saving verses, a few collections and a few AI questions a day, plus a preview of the audio reflection. Premium adds home- and lock-screen widgets, the full audio reflection, the examination of conscience before confession, all journeys, and unlimited collections and AI questions.
- Is Haven a Catholic app?
- Yes. The Gospel of the day follows the Catholic General Roman Calendar, and the evening examen and examination of conscience come from Catholic tradition. Christians of other traditions are welcome to use it too.
- Which Bible translation does Haven use?
- In English, the World English Bible, a public-domain translation; each other language has its own. They are not the lectionary translations read at Mass, so the wording can differ from what you hear in church.
- Is the AI a replacement for a priest?
- No. Haven uses AI to write daily reflections and to help you think about a passage. It is not a priest, confessor, spiritual director or therapist, and it is not an authority on Church teaching.
- What happens to what I write?
- Journal notes, intentions and AI conversations are stored under your account so you can return to them, travel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, are never sold or used to train AI, and can be deleted at any time. The evening examen and the examination of conscience save nothing you pray or mark.
